Session Aims:

  • To consider whether your lived experience of disability has impacted on your practice and the way you work with others.

  • To think about the impact of promoting independence within OT practice - what harm does this cause and does it reflect the communities we serve and people we are working with?

  • To consider if and how the emphasis on independence varies across our worldwide OT communities.

  • To reflect on different ways of living that emphasise community and interdependence, to consider the impact of this for disabled people.
